BOOKING
How do I book a session?
Booking is easy! Select your preferred package, choose an available date, complete the booking form, and submit your booking request.
Once your request is received, I'll personally review the details and reach out to begin planning your session. After everything is finalized, I'll approve your booking, send out contracts, and you'll receive your confirmation.
What is required to reserve my session?
A signed contract and a non-refundable retainer (deposit) are required to secure your session date. The remaining balance is due before or on the day prior to your session as outlined in your invoice.
When is my remaining balance due?
Your remaining balance is due before your scheduled session. Payment instructions and due dates will be included in your agreement.
What payment methods do you accept?
I currently accept major credit and debit cards through my secure online booking system.
Can I gift a session?

Wear something that makes you feel comfortable and confident! Neutral colors, earthy tones, and coordinating outfits tend to photograph beautifully.

Can you help me choose a location?
Of course! Whether you're looking for mountain views, desert scenery, downtown vibes, or something cozy indoors, I'm happy to recommend locations that fit your vision and budget.

Do you travel outside of metropolitan Phoenix?
Of course! Sessions throughout the Phoenix metropolitan are included, and I'm always happy to travel beyond the Valley for the right location. Some destinations include:
- Sedona
- Prescott
- Payson
- Flagstaff
- Cottonwood
- Camp Verde
- Pine
- Strawberry
- Tucson
- Tortilla Flat
If you have another location in mind, please feel free to ask! I'm always open to exploring new places. Travel fees may apply depending on the distance, and any required park entrance, permit, or parking fees are the client's responsibility unless stated otherwise.
Do you offer studio sessions?
Yes! Studio sessions are available for many session types. However, studio rental fees and booking are separate unless otherwise noted and will be discussed during planning.
Can I bring a pet?
Yes! Pets are always welcome for outdoor sessions so long as they're permitted at the location. I recommend bringing someone along who can help care for them when they're not in photos.
Can I bring someone with me?
Absolutely! You're welcome to bring one family member, friend, or support person so long as they do not disrupt the session. Just keep in mind that too many can sometimes become distracting during the session.
Can I have a specific editing style?
Every gallery edited at Jade Lantern Studio's signature style. However, if you have a particular vision or inspiration in mind, I'd love to see it before your session so we can plan for it together.
during the session
I'm awkward in front of the camera. Will you pose me?
Absolutely! Most clients say this before their session. I'll guide you through natural posing and prompts so you don't have to worry about what to do with your hands or where to look.
How long does a session last?
Session length depends on the package you book. You'll find session times listed with each package on the pricing page. If you need additional time than what is listed on selected package, you're welcome to add-on an additional 30 minutes for $40.
What happens if we're running late?
Life happens! Please let me know as soon as possible. I'll do my best to accommodate you, but arriving late may shorten your session so I can stay on schedule for other clients.
What if my kid's don't cooperate?
No worries, kids will be kids! I always allow room for little breaks and playful moments. Some of the best photos happen when children are simply being themselves.
What if my partner hates taking photos?
They're definitely not the first. My sessions are relaxed and conversational, with prompts instead of stiff posing. My goal is to make the experience enjoyable for everyone.
after the session
When will I receive my gallery?
You'll receive your fully edited online gallery within 2-3 weeks after your session.
Rush delivery may be available to deliver within a 2 to 3 business day timeframe. Please inquire for details.
How many photos will I receive?
Each package includes a minimum number of professionally edited images. Many galleries include additional images depending on the session.
Can I download and print my photos?
Yes, your online gallery includes high-resolution downloads with a personal print release, so you're free to print your images for personal use wherever you'd like.
Can I order prints through you?
Absolutely! Professional quality prints and products can be ordered directly through your online gallery for the best color and print quality.
Do you keep RAW photos?
No. RAW files are unfinished working files and are not included in any session.
Can I request additional edits?
Minor retouching requests may be accommodated when possible. Extensive edits or Photoshop work may require an additional editing fee.

What happens if it rains or dust storms?
If weather makes an outdoor session unsafe or doesn't fit the vision we planned, we'll reschedule your session at no additional charge.
What is your cancellation policy?
Retainers are non-refundable because they reserve your session date and time. If you need to cancel, please let me know as soon as possible.
Can I reschedule?
Yes, life happens. You may reschedule your session one (1) time with at least a 48 hour notice, subject to availability. Your retainer will transfer to the new date.
Any additional requests, rescheduling with less than 48 hours' notice, or failure to attend your scheduled session will result in forfeiture of the retainer. A new retainer will be required to book another session date.
If your session includes a rental studio, any studio rescheduling or cancellation fees are separate from Jade Lantern Studio and remain the client's responsibility.
Exceptions may be made for severe weather, illness, or emergencies at Jade Lantern Studio's discretion.
Do you refund retainers?
Retainers are non-refundable deposits.
Are location or park entrance fees included?
Any required park entrance fees, parking fees, or photography permits are the client's responsibility unless otherwise discussed. I'll always let you know ahead of time if a location has additional costs.
Are studio rental fees included?
Studio rental fees are separate from your session price unless your package specifically states otherwise. I'm happy to recommend studios based on the style you're looking for and help coordinate the booking process.
